CANDIDATE STATEMENT

This role excites me because it offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the
growth and success of ASID and the Houston design community. Serving as Director At
Large allows me to help shape programs that bring designers together, encourage
collectiveness, and support professional development. I am especially excited for the
opportunity to work with other industry partners that are so important to our chapter and
create events that inspire creativity, connection, and learning within the design
community. As the CEU Chair I have made great connections this past year and a half
and I am very excited for this role to grow relationships and highlight our amazing ASID
brand.
As an industry partner, I am motivated by the idea of helping designers feel supported at
every stage of their careers. As the Director At Large, I would plan to promote chapter
events that are both engaging and valuable to all members and partners. I believe
strong collectiveness strengthens the design community by giving members a space to
exchange ideas, share experiences, and build lasting professional relationships. I would
be working along with great leaders, and I’ll work hard to keep design industry
relationships strong.
In addition, serving as an IP Mentor to the design community and emerging
professionals would allow me to help strengthen connections between established
professionals and those entering the field. I would bring enthusiasm, strong
communication, and a commitment to creating inclusive opportunities for engagement
and growth. My goal would be to help create a design community where members feel
inspired in their own personal journeys.
